ChatGPT is powered by a large language model made up of neural networks trained on a massive amount of information from the internet, including Wikipedia articles and research papers. The process happens iteratively, building from words to sentences, to paragraphs, to pages of text. ChatGPT’s advanced Voice Mode is now available to small casino superbet groups of paid ChatGPT Plus users.
ChatGPT is one of many AI content generators tackling the art of the written word — whether that be a news article, press release, college essay or sales email. In order to sift through terabytes of internet data and transform that into a text response, ChatGPT uses a technique called transformer architecture (hence the “T” in its name). GPTs are custom versions of ChatGPT, designed for specific tasks or purposes. You can browse through existing GPTs in the GPT store, or create your own to suit your project and needs.
OpenAI also announced the GPT store, which will let users share and monetize their custom bots. The enterprise version offers the higher-speed GPT-4 model with a longer context window, customization options and data analysis. This model of ChatGPT does not share data outside the organization. There is also an option to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus for access to GPT-4, faster responses, no blackout windows and unlimited availability. ChatGPT Plus also gives priority access to new features for a subscription rate of $20 per month.
Users can interact with ChatGPT through text, audio, and image prompts. The language models used in ChatGPT are specifically optimized for dialogue and were trained using reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF). This approach incorporates human feedback into the training process so it can better align its outputs with user intent (and carry on with more natural-sounding dialogue). ChatGPT currently provides access to GPT-3.5 and limited access to the GPT-4o language model.

While both the site and app allow you to access custom GPTs, some features, like the Sora video generator, are currently exclusive to the web browser. At the same time, its release prompted extensive media coverage and public debate about the nature of creativity and the future of knowledge work. In December 2024, OpenAI launched an experimental way to converse with ChatGPT by calling ChatGPT or messaging ChatGPT through WhatsApp. This allows more people to experiment with ChatGPT because no account is needed. WhatsApp only supports text so users cannot use images in conversations. ChatGPT automatically searches the internet based on the user’s prompt.
The ban was lifted a month later after OpenAI made changes to comply with EU data protection regulations. ChatGPT can also be used to impersonate a person by training it to copy someone’s writing and language style. The chatbot could then impersonate a trusted person to collect sensitive information or spread disinformation. While ChatGPT can be helpful for some tasks, there are some ethical concerns that depend on how it is used, including bias, lack of privacy and security, and cheating in education and work. Hallucinations can become a huge issue if ChatGPT is being used to, say, write a news article, or ask questions about historical events, or get healthcare advice.
One of the biggest ethical concerns with ChatGPT is its bias in training data. If the data the model pulls from has any bias, it is reflected in the model’s output. ChatGPT also does not understand language that might be offensive or discriminatory. The data needs to be reviewed to avoid perpetuating bias, but including diverse and representative material can help control bias for accurate results. ChatGPT is a form of generative AI — a tool that lets users enter prompts to receive humanlike images, text or videos that are created by AI. This paid subscription version of ChatGPT provides faster response times, access during peak times and the ability to test out new features early.
Or, in the case of one New York lawyer, use ChatGPT for a brief in a client’s personal injury case (where it inadvertently cited six non-existent court decisions). But for those who want an upgrade over the free version, a paid subscription version, called ChatGPT Plus, is also available for $20 a month. And it has affected how everyday people experience the internet in “profound ways,” according to Raghu Ravinutala, the co-founder and CEO of customer experience startup Yellow.ai.
